Travel

Did you know...

Did you know that there are 195 countries in the world?

There is so much to see and do and yet people do not travel as much as you think.

We recently read a article of a poll with 2000 participants that were questioned about their travels.

54% (over half) had only visited 10 states or fewer.

13% had never flown on a plane.

11% had never traveled outside of the state that they were born.

These numbers seem crazy! So three years ago we decided to challenge ourselves and get out and travel more.

Get out of the rut of work to home to work to home. Take ahold of our lives and become modern day explorers.

This page is where you will find where we have traveled and how we traveled there. Check out our YouTube channel for our videos on what we saw and did in each.

our hope is that our travels encourage you to get out and explore more and travel by any means necessary.

United States

Hawaii

California

California

Our trip to the 50th state...Hawaii

Aloha from Oahu, HI. Since we were on the west coast we had been watching flight costs to travel to Hawaii and be able to check off another box by exploring the 50th state. Man did it not disappoint. This island was filled with such beauty, lots of history and the beaches were some of the prettiest that we have seen to date. Check out our YouTube channel for the videos on everything Oahu.

California

California

California

With so much to see and do in California our travels here started in 2019 in Southern California.

We have since then been back in 2020 and then between 2021-2022 have been exploring all of Northern California.

Florida

California

Florida

We lived in South Florida for many years and to be honest it is still one of our favorite states. Perfect beaches, perfect weather and so much to see and do.

Arizona

New Mexico

Florida

Wow Arizona changes drastically throughout the state just like its weather. We had a lot of fun exploring all that Arizona has to offer though!

Our favorites were boondocking in the Grand Canyon (well until we had to high tail it out of there due to an unexpected snow storm. Having a gunfight in Tombstone, going back in time in Bisbee and making some lifelong friends in the middle of the desert.

Nevada

New Mexico

New Mexico

Home to Sin City, Nevada has lots of unique places and things to explore. Highlights of our favorites?

Well there was the time where we spent the night in a haunted clown motel. Then there was the road on the alien highway that  may or may not have led to a secret government facility.

Oh and lets not forget about getting stuck in the sand in the middle of the desert.

Yup I'd say that Nevada has more to explore than just Vegas yall!

New Mexico

New Mexico

New Mexico

Who knew New Mexico would find itself into our hearts and become one of our favorite states so far!

We started with seeing a cool name on the map and decided we had to visit it. I mean who wouldnt want to visit a place called Truth or Consequences? There were a bit of sheninagans here as we soaked a bit in a private hot springs.

Then there was a search for ghosts in a ghost town and aliens in Roswell.

Our favorite though had to be the Balloon Fiesta in Albuquerque.

Texas

Louisiana

Louisiana

Everything is bigger in Texas y'all! No statement can be truer than when referring to a Texan gas station.

Seriously Buc-ees is the Walmart's of gas stations. Oh and they have the best BBQ brisket sandwiches!

We spent time in Galveston, Austin, San Antonio, Waco and some other cool places.

Louisiana

Louisiana

Louisiana

Louisiana  has officially become our foodie spot. The flavors coming out of these meals should be illegal! Our time in Louisiana was spent in New Orleans exploring the streets and taking in the architecture and history.

Georgia

Louisiana

South Carolina

Just like a ripe peach Georgia was so sweet to us. So far we have only explored Atlanta but our short tie was spent having a lot of fun.

We took a tour of the Coca Cola museum and went to the Atlanta Aquarium. It is now officially our favorite aquarium to date!

South Carolina

South Carolina

South Carolina

Soaked rich in history there is so much to see and do in South Carolina.

Our top two favorites? Beach and food! Hmm does anything else have to be said?

North Carolina

South Carolina

North Carolina

Ok so we have a very special reason for spending time in North Carolina! That reason is family. We have family in Greenville and the Outer Banks.

We also may or may not have discovered a UFO somewhere along the coastline.

Oh and I cant forget this is where we got scuba certified years and years ago!

Washington

South Carolina

North Carolina

I'm not gonna lie. Washington was cold! We did discover and explore some really cool places though.

We spent time on the coast, Seattle and the beautiful Mount Rainer.

Virginia

Washington D.C.

Virginia

Virginia is for lovers? Well considering that his is where we met and eventually got married I guess that is true!

With a beautiful coastline, historic Williamsburg, the best BBQ joint on the east coast in Richmond and the beauty of Northern Virginia there is so much to see and do!

Maryland

Washington D.C.

Virginia

Growing up in Maryland I try to get back and visit family and friends as much as possible. My younger days were spent traveling and exploring this beautiful state.

From the brick sidewalks in Ellicott City to the coastline of Ocean City Maryland has so much to offer.

Washington D.C.

Washington D.C.

Washington D.C.

So much to see and do when in our nations capital. Our time here was spent down on the mall exploring some of my favorite museums.

New York

New York

Washington D.C.

If you can make it here you can make it anywhere. OK to be fair we know that New York has so much more to see and do than the city.

Our time spent here though was visiting family. This is where Aaron grew up and he had alot of fun playing tour guide.

Missouri

New York

Missouri

While in Missouri the weather did not want to cooperate so we did not get able to explore like we wanted to.

We did however take this opportunity to meet up with some great friends of ours for some amazing BBQ oh and check out our other friends tiny house.

Visiting new places is fun but nothing can beat quality time with friends and family.

Kansas

New York

Missouri

We were so pleasantly surprised in Kansas when our travels led us to the coolest little town that has all things wizard of oz.

I'm talking a winery, a restaurant, museum and even a replica of Dorothy's house.

We had soo much fun exploring this town!

Oregon

Mississippi

Oklahoma

Oregon is such a beautiful state. We spent time on the coast searching for the Goonie's gold, went hiking to a gorgeous waterfall oh and visited the very last Blockbuster video store.

Oklahoma

Mississippi

Oklahoma

We stopped over and stayed in Oklahoma City, is the capital of the U.S. state of Oklahoma. Known for its cowboy culture, we were actually there for Aaron & Demetri to attend a Wrestling Show.

While they were entertained I visited the The Survivor Tree, an American elm nearly destroyed in the attack, and part of the memorial

Mississippi

Mississippi

Mississippi

We stopped off and explored Biloxi which for those of you that do not know is on the Gulf of Mexico.  our stay there was 3 days and located at one of the local casino's. While there we toured the Biloxi Lighthouse,  the Maritime and Seafood Industry Museum, which offers exhibits on boatbuilding and seafood-processing and took a really cool tour on a shrimp boat.

Alabama

West Virginia

Mississippi

While in Alabama we took in all of the history surrounding the American Civil Rights Movement and the importance that it had on the lives of our family members, friends and our nation. Home of the city of Birmingham's 16th Street Baptist Church which is now a museum, it was a important landmark in the movement as it was a protest headquarters in the 1960s.

In Montgomery, you will find Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.'s church as well as the Rosa Parks Museum.

West Virginia

West Virginia

West Virginia

West Virginia is an eastern U.S. state in the tree-covered Appalachian Mountains. While here we took a tour of the beautiful town of Harpers Ferry, where the Shenandoah River meets the Potomac River, and took in all of the historic information of this infamous site of where the famous Civil War–era raid occurred. Surrounded by a national historical park, the town looks as it did in the 19th century, with many of the buildings open to the public as living-history museums.
